Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics (IJND) must follow the journal’s Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines. Submissions should demonstrate scientific rigor, originality, or a novel contribution to the field aligned with the journal’s focus.

Manuscripts must be written in clear and proficient English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their work professionally reviewed for grammar and clarity prior to submission. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

To ensure integrity, all manuscripts must be free of plagiarism. Authors are advised to utilize plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin or iThenticate to verify content originality. The editorial team will also use these tools to screen submissions for similarities. Each manuscript undergoes a rigorous peer-review process involving at least two expert reviewers from the Peer Review Team. Reviewers provide constructive and scientific feedback to enhance the manuscript’s quality. When necessary, a third reviewer may be consulted for additional critical input.

The journal employs a single-blind review system to ensure impartiality. The Editor-in-Chief, in collaboration with the Regional/Associate Editor and the Editorial Board (if needed), will make the final decision regarding manuscript acceptance. This decision is informed by reviewers’ evaluations but ultimately rests on the Editor’s judgment. Accepted articles will be scheduled for publication based on their acceptance date, the geographical diversity of the authors, and their relevance to thematic issues.
