JNKI (Jurnal Ners dan Kebidanan Indonesia) (Indonesian Journal of Nursing and Midwifery), abbreviated JNKI, receives manuscript in range area of nursing and midwifery. It could be typed either in English or in Bahasa. Author should read the editorial policy and publication ethics before submitting their manuscript. Author should also use the appropriate reporting guidelines in preparing their manuscript.

GENERAL AUTHOR GUIDELINES

The manuscript is the result of research that has never been published or not being submitted or posted in any media. Manuscripts that have been presented at a scientific meeting must be labeled (footnote). The manuscript consists of the title, name, author address, author institution, abstract, introductions, materials and methods, the results and discussion, conclusion and recommendations, acknowledgments (if necessary) and references. Provisions in detail could be seen in the guidelines of writing.

Every manuscript is blindly reviewed by at least 1 (one) peer-reviewer. Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based on their report/recommendation. Manuscript which is not published would not be returned to the author, except at the request of the author. Manuscript sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. Author has the responsibility to the content of their own article.

GUIDELINES FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION

Author should first register as Author through the following address: http://ejournal.almaata.ac.id/index.php/JNKI/user/register. Author should fill the form then click “Register” button to proceed the registration.

To begin the online submission, author should click on “New Submission”:

Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Author must read and check-mark on the submission checklists and copyright notice. Author could also write the comment for editor.

Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal click “Browse (or Choose File) which opens a Choose File window for locating the file on the hard drive of your computer. Locate the file you wish to submit and highlight it. Click Open on the Choose File window, which places the name of the file on this page. Click Upload on this page, which uploads the file from the computer to the journal's web site and renames it following the journal's conventions. Once the submission is uploaded, click Save and Continue at the bottom of this page.

Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.

Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: This optional step allows Supplementary Files to be added to a submission. The files, which can be in any format, might include (a) research instruments, (b) data sets, which comply with the terms of the study's research ethics review, (c) sources that otherwise would be unavailable to readers, (d) figures and tables that cannot be integrated into the text itself, or other materials that add to the contribution of the work.

Step 5 – Confirmation.  To submit your manuscript to Jurnal Ners dan Kebidanan Indonesia (Journal of Nurse and Midwifery Indonesia) click Finish Submission. The submission's principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web site.

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at anytime by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes status of manuscript review and editorial process.

GUIDELINES OF WRITING

Reviewing these resources and publication guidelines will make submitting to JNKI easier.

The manuscript is typed with Microsoft word program, paper size A4, font Arial size 11, spaced 1.5, margins for top-bottom-left-right 3 cm, the number of pages 8-20, and give the page numbers on the bottom right corner.

1. Title

1.1. The title of an article should be written in Bahasa and English, should be specific and effective, not more than 12 words in Bahasa, 10 words in English, or 90 spaces on the keyboard, so it would be understood comprehensively in once reading.

1.2. The title should be capitalized at the beginning of sentence.

1.3. The Latin name and terminology that is not in Indonesian written in italics.

2. The name and the institution of author

2.1. The name of the author should be without a degree under the title completed with superscript of letters behind the name of every author and completed with the information containing institutions and institution address.

2.2. One of the author's roles as a correspondence author and must write down the address correspondence in a form of email or phone number to help the communication and publishing confirmation.

3. Abstract

3.1. Abstract should be written structurally using Bahasa and English in italic.

3.2. Abstract may clearly present the whole essence of the article in 250-300 words.

3.3. Abstract could be written at the bottom of author name with the background, the purpose of research (objective), methods, result, conclusions, and keywords.

3.4. The keywords should be 5 words for maximum or may present the content of article and could be used as searching words.

4. Introductions

Introductions contain background and supporting literature for research purposes.

5. Materials and methods

5.1. Type of methods, time, sample, and research variable should be brief in this part.

5.2. For the experimental research that uses laboratory must include the main ingredient with clear specification and source.

5.3. The used of methods should be reproducible and when taken from other sources should be completed citation.

5.4. Analysis of the data should be written briefly.

6. Results

Table and figures should be referred in the next and given the title with enough information, so it would not depend on the text. The table title is placed before the table, while the title of figure should be bottom of picture. The table is numbered based on the appearance, so is the figure. To help editing, the figure/ table should be completed with excel softcopy or JPG.

7. Discussions

Discussions should be supported by related literature.

8. Conclusion and recommendation

Conclusion withdrawn from the results and discussion must refer to the objectives of the research.

9. Acknowledgements (if necessary)

Name or institution participated in the research could be written here.

10. References

10.1. The reference should use number system (Vancouver style) I, recommended using the application of Mendeley

10.2. The numbering of references must be appropriate with the article appeared and written with Arabic numbers in the brackets.

           For example:

          …data accuracy in this research could be matched with Riskesdas 2010 (1).

          …in the step of this research, the studies in America also shows…(2).

10.3. The journal title could be abbreviated based on Medicus index. The list of the abbreviation could be accessed on library’s website (http://www.nlm.nih.gov).

10.4. References from abstract are not permitted.

10.5. Article references accepted by a magazine but has not been published would be marked “ in press” or “forthcoming”. Article sent to a magazine but has not got certainly whether accepted or not would be mentioned as “unpublished observations”. These article, if they are so important, could be used as references with the author’s written permission.

10.6. Do not use literature “personal communication” or “self-problem” except it is for needed. It must obtain permission.

10.7. All literatures should be verified by authors of their own original documents.
